Why Crowdfund with the Women’s Business Centre?
Starting or growing a business can be costly and getting the money you need to bring your plans to life is a challenge faced by many businesses.
Even in this day and age, women business owners face particular additional challenges to accessing the funds they need.
Women start businesses with around 50% less money than men.
Women receive less than 2% of money invested by venture capital investors.
Women often also ask for lower amounts than men, so they end up with less even when they are successful in getting funding.
We want to help you access the funding you need to get ideas and new products off the ground. We also want to provide your supporters with a way to make contributions and be the first to experience your new products or services when they launch.
That’s why we have launched our new crowdfunding platform.
Members of the Women’s Business Centre can apply and receive training to set up ‘Campaigns’ and raise funds from contributions made by people who want to support the campaign. In return for the support, you can offer specific rewards depending on the amount contributed to your campaign. These rewards are often the new product, or service that your business will launch using the money raised through your campaign.
This is called Reward Crowdfunding
It’s a great way of getting the money needed for something new and to give those who support you a taste of what you are creating.
To start a campaign and raise funds for your business, you must be a member of the Women’s Business Centre and complete the steps to access the training and start your campaign.
