This is an opportunity for you to have your say for your business, your sector and the wider community.
The Scottish Government has established a new Advisory Council for Economic Transformation which has the significant task of determining the economic strategy for the next 10 years. A strategy that will take us through the recovery from Covid-19 and transition to net zero. The Council is made up of business leaders, academics, and economists, including Lynne Cadenhead, the Chair of Women’s Enterprise Scotland which delivers the Women’s Business Centre.
To help develop the strategy the Council are asking to hear from a broad range of businesses and individuals with their views, opinions and suggestions.
Have your say in how the economy can be transformed for the greater good, the climate, and prosperity for all.
Some sectors have had it really tough during Covid – such as beauty, hospitality, leisure, and tourism. Women have seen a disproportionately negative impact due to the pandemic because of the type of jobs they tend to do, caring commitments and home schooling.
Women are also in the minority when it comes to being business owners and face challenges in accessing grants and finance. Women have also suffered more from stress and poor mental health throughout the pandemic. See content on the Women’s Enterprise Scotland site for details.
Which is why it’s especially important to ensure that women respond to this call for input. We want to ensure that the voices of women are heard and that everyone has the opportunity to have a say in the future of the economy.
