We’ve launched even more support, with a series of webinars especially for women thinking about, or at the very early stages of, starting a business.

At a time when some of the funding streams, set up to support businesses affected by the pandemic, are changing or coming to an end, uncertainty – especially for women – continues. If you’re wondering what it would be like to be your own boss this is a great time to join one of our webinar sessions. You’ll gain tips and advice on a range of business subjects, have the opportunity to quiz business advisors, plus have opportunities to hear from women who already run their own businesses and can share their personal experiences.

The first session was held on Thursday August 6th on the topic of Identifying your business idea and getting started. Hosted by journalist and presenter Clare English, we heard from innovation specialist Elaine Baxter (Boutique Innovation), customer insights specialist Diana Montador (Montador Consulting) and Women’s Enterprise Ambassador Gail Bryden of JustBe Botanicals.

We’ve also held a session on Juggling caring responsibilities and being productive, which was jam-packed with practical tips. And our latest session was on the reality of funding a business. A common thread on all of the sessions so far is that all of our speakers provide frank advice and haven’t shied away from talking about when things are very tough, and how they have found their routes past that.

Our current series of webinars has come to an end but we’re planning more. Webinars are free to attend for anyone registered with the Women’s Business Centre. Sign up now and after your registration is confirmed we’ll send out details of how to book for your place on the webinar. But places for each of the sessions are limited and every one so far has fully booked, so don’t delay!
