Mary Turner Thomson

I am an international best-selling author of two memoirs, ‘The Bigamist’ and ‘The Psychopath’, and Managing Director of The Book Whisperers CIC – a social enterprise which helps people start, improve, and promote writing books (whatever stage they’re at) for fun, health & wellbeing and/or publishing. We have an online community platform where writers can meet other writers, access support/feedback, and professional services – and authors can promote their work and monetise their writing. Any surplus we make will go back into running author workshops and publishing books with schools to encourage the next generation of writers.

We cannot change our past, only use the experience (good or bad) to learn from and grow as individuals. By converting our history into wisdom, we can live happily in the present and move powerfully forward into a bright new future. You just have to focus on where you are going and choose the path you want to take.

Mary’s story

In 2006 my life changed when I got a phone call from my husband’s other wife. Not only is he a bigamist but also a psychopath and conman who actively impregnates women to rip them off for money.

As my business was not something others had done before my biggest challenge was getting people to believe that it could be done. Being passionate about it though, and believing wholeheartedly in what I was doing, shone through – and once others started to come on board it created a momentum all of its own.
