Ecommerce opens up so many avenues for female entrepreneurs, allows them to open their product or service to the world, to operate from rural locations, and to work smarter around their other commitments. Including women in the workforce in senior levels is key to economic growth. Women should not be afraid to be called entrepeneurs. We ARE female entrepreneurs as we started and run businesses. Every one of us should strive to help others up the ladder and to mentor, giving your knowledge back in an inclusive way to help future generations. Above all, BE KIND.
Ann-Maree’s Story
Ann-Maree Morrison set up the ecommerce business Labels4Kids in 2004 following a career break having worked as a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant.Â
My biggest challenge was
Learning to ride the waves of entrepeneurship over the years, learning to recruit and train staff only to lose them eventually due to their ecommerce skills to larger agencies or businesses in bigger cities. However most have kept in touch and so I see myself as one of the mothers of the next generation in ecommerce! I have I think worked longer and harder than ever before but been happy to do it and have much more flexibility of lifestyle. My experience has also led me into other avenues I enjoy helping with and I have met a huge amount of wonderful women internationally.
