This website is part of an ambitious vision, developed by the team at Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES), who are experts in support for women-owned businesses.
The team at WES consists of women who want to use the benefit of their own business experience to help others fulfil their potential and realise their business aspirations. All have significant experience not only in starting and running businesses but also in crucial areas such as banking and finance, investment, communications and marketing, business advice, mentoring and policy-making.
WES contributes to think-tanks, research and policy development across the world, identifying the latest initiatives which support women-owned businesses and ensuring that women in Scotland can benefit from these advances and innovations. By enabling more women to start-up businesses, we will help tackle the gender gap in enterprise and potentially contribute an additional £8bn into the Scottish economy every year.
WES is a member of the Women in Enterprise Action Group, chaired by Scottish Government Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills, Jamie Hepburn MSP. The Group includes representation from a number of other organisations who may be able to help you develop your business. We refer to them throughout the site and you can also find out more about them here.
Our business start-up checklist is a step-by-step guide to launching your own business.
